Structure

Zonta Club of Rochester is one of 1,249 clubs in 68 countries. Zonta International headquarters is located in Chicago. In Rochester, the organization has two entities, as does Zonta International. One entity is the Zonta Club of Rochester, the other is the Rochester Zonta Foundation. The purpose of the Foundation is too maintain a non-profit status for our donors tax advantages and to maintain record and control of the finances. The Zonta Club is separate so that lobbying efforts and political activities, which are aligned to the mission of advancing the status of women worldwide can be engaged in. The Zonta Club of Rochester is the entity that is the service action oriented part of the organization. Current officers of the Zonta Club of Rochester may be found on the officers page.

Foundation

The Zonta Rochester Foundation received its 501c(3) status from the Federal and the New York State Governments in the Fall of 2002. Elected officers for the 2004 - 2005 year were:

Directors:Ruth Cardillo, Lynda Richards, Kim Rose, Ellen Scalzo

The purpose of the Zonta Rochester Foundation is to carry out the educational and charitable service mission of the Zonta Club of Rochester. As the philanthropic arm of the Zonta Club of Rochester, the Foundation, through its 501(c)(3) status, provides an incentive for large donors to invest in Zonta programs through a charitable tax deduction.
